145 years of vision. 800 timepieces. One singular tribute.
The King Seiko KS1969 145th Anniversary Limited Edition is a deeply personal homage — to a founder, to a legacy, and to the enduring pursuit of perfection that has defined Seiko since 1881. Inspired by the accomplishments of Kintaro Hattori, whose founding vision gave birth to one of the world's most respected watchmaking houses, this timepiece transforms history into something that can be worn, felt, and passed on.
Produced in a strictly controlled run of just 800 pieces worldwide, each individually serialized on the caseback, this is not a watch that will wait for you.
DESIGN & AESTHETICS
The case is a faithful architectural revival of the iconic 1969 King Seiko — curved edges, sleek proportions, and an astounding 9.9 mm thinness that achieves the impossible: a dress watch that wears as effortlessly as it looks. The seamless flow from case to multi-row bracelet, with its impressively narrow links, results in a unified, streamlined presence on the wrist that is wholly its own.
At the center sits the warm gray gradated dial bearing the "Nanako" pattern — a meticulous arrangement of contiguous triangles drawn from the decorative language of late 19th-century pocket watches, the very era from which Seiko was born. Gold-tone hands, three-dimensional indices, and the King Seiko logo glow against the textured surface. The 12 o'clock marker, carved into a distinctive arrow-feather shape, anchors the dial with quiet authority.
The King Seiko crest is faithfully engraved on both the caseback and crown. A box-shaped sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating ensures the dial is always seen at its finest.
MOVEMENT
Powering this commemorative piece is the Caliber 6L35 — a 26-jewel automatic movement with manual winding capability, built to inhabit the watch's extraordinarily slim silhouette without sacrifice. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of approximately 45 hours, it delivers the accuracy and reliability befitting a 145th anniversary tribute. A bi-directional winding system and rapid date-change mechanism complete a movement as thoughtfully engineered as the case that surrounds it.
